Handly Page Halifax II, nr. JN967 carried out a night flight. 
During the flight one of the engines caught fire.
Later on the wing cought fire as well.  
The aircraft came into a the large angle and crashed at
East Ferry near Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, UK

His mortal remainders were found after 18 years.
On 27.11.1962 he was still buried in Newark on Trent.
