Killed during the action "Bodenplatte". In the morning of Januari the 1st
1945 the German "Luftwaffe" carried out a last desperate attack on a 
number of Allied airfields. 

Also the Polish Airforce on the airbase of Sint-Denijs-Westrem
was a target and 6 Polish Airmen lost their lives there.  

Por. Powierza Tadeusz was shot down with his Spitfire MK IX Nr. 190 whilst 
he defended the airfield.
