LLANGADWALADR (ST. CADWALADR) CHURCHYARD - Anglesey
New Part South of Church.
Ppor. KALARUS Stefan was killed when his aircraft collided
another in a mid air accident.
On 8 January 1942 F/Lt J.A.M.J.G. Carlier, CO "B" Flight
(Spitfire IIa P8702), leading the left section of a 12 aircraft
formation led by S/Ldr Thompson, was injured, in an accident
when a Lysander Aircraft (V9604) flew into the Formation.
F/Lt. Carlier's aircraft was damaged and he force landed.
Badly injured he was removed to the C and A Infirmary
Bangor where he was placed on the dangerously ill list.
He would stay for many months at the hospital, ending
his carreer as fighter pilot.
