Fairey Battle I, nr. L5071, flown by an inexperienced crew,
took off on 19.30 hours from the airport Mount Farm (satellite base of Benson).
The aircraft plunged a few minutes after take-off flight
suddenly into a dive and crashed and burnt out about
1,5 km. North West of the airport.
Crew was killed and buried in the St. Helen Churchyard of Benson.
