On 5.11.1944 a battle group of 8. B.S. and 2. P.Panc. advanced 
towards the village Hooge Zwaluwe. They were obliged to stay 
on the dykes because the polder has been inundated. 
Germans opened fire from a ambush and the infantry suffered 
heavy losses. Nine men were killed in action: Stuwe M., 
Myske J., Herman J., Lamkowski B., Borón J., Czajko J., 
Pluciński W., Szczotka H. and Grinholz A.  
Tyburcy S. was killed in one of the three tanks of 2. P.Panc. 
which were destroyed.
